Public Transport Fund Awards [Railscot]

Enterprise and Transport Minister Iain Gray announced the allocation of £59M amongst 23 projects. These projects include:


- £11.396M to the South East Scotland Transport Partnership for sustainable transport access to Edinburgh, including expanded station car-parking (particularly in West Lothian) and CCTV as well as enlargement of Ferrytoll bus park-and-ride;


- £2.715M to Glasgow City Council for park-and-ride at Shields Road Underground;


- £1.45M to Highland Council for street pedestrianisation and rail improvements in Inverness (the latter is the Highland Rail Partnership's Invernet project for an extra unit to introduce additional services between Inverness and Dingwall or Tain or Kingussie);


- £1.107M to North Lanarkshire Council for park-and-ride improvements at Greenfaulds;


- £1.061M to South Lanarkshire Council for park-and-ride on the Hamilton Circle;


- £0.4M to Falkirk Council for a feasibility study into development of the Cumbernauld-Falkirk Grahamston line;


- £0.318M to the North East Scotland Transport Partnership for measures including real time train information to improve access to Aberdeen Airport.
