Description

This was largely a minerals handling location. A series of sidings served five staithes and further east the Port Clarence Iron Works was served by the railway.

There were also a few sidings near the staithes. The passenger station may have been located close to the ship inn or railway cottage, it is not marked on Ordnance Survey maps.

A newer station, Port Clarence [2nd] opened to the west, close to the later built Tees Transporter Bridge of 1911.
