![A Super Voyager heads north along the WCML towards Penrith. The train has just passed under the A6 road in Clifton village and is now crossing the M6 Motorway. ![DRS 66305 waits with a long container train in the Up Loop at Clifton and Lowther for southbound WCML passenger services to overtake. The second line of trees above the train mark the course of the Stainmore line to Appleby (East) which diverged from the WCML just north of this point. ![The <I>Entente Cordiale</I>, a private charter from Carnforth to Spean Bridge, runs through Clifton and Lowther on 23rd October 2015. The train comprised West Coast 57601, complete with headboard and Anglo-French bunting, and six gleaming Pullman coaches. Photographed from the bridge at Grid Reference NY541257.
