Ferryhill Shed [1st]: The west wall of the 1850 Aberdeen Railway Company loco shed, photographed in 2022, shows the later extension on the right with different brickwork and window styles. The Ferryhill depot was actually built on Polmuir adjacent to Polmuir House.
Farington Curve Junction: Northern 195117 joins the Down Slow at Farington Curve Junction on Wednesday 9th April 2025 working 195117 1B21 0922 York to Blackpool North. This hourly express service calls at Church Fenton, Garforth, Leeds, New Pudsey, Bradford Interchange, Halifax, Hebden Bridge, Burnley Manchester Road, Accrington, Blackburn, Preston, Kirkham & Wesham and Poulton-le-Fylde with the journey taking roughly 2hrs 45mins.
Greenford: Class 101 L836 leaves Greenford with a shuttle service to Ealing Broadway in 1993. The starting signal was still a GWR semaphore at this time, and although they survive on the adjacent main line this particular one has been replaced with a colour light. Greenford Loop services only run to West Ealing now but that does allow a half-hourly interval service to be maintained by one two-car DMU.
Vauxhall: New 701034 , South Western Railway Waterloo to Windsor & Eton Riverside, arriving at its first stop at Vauxhall, at 14.35 on Thursday, 17th April 2025. This station is an interchange with the LU Victoria Line as well as various local TfL bus services.
Dufftown: The railway between Drummuir and Dufftown runs for most of the way through a deep valley and on 12th April 2025 the 14.30 from Keith Town is descending from the summit near Lochpark towards its destination. The train consists of a 2-car class 108 'Spirit of Speyside' and a single class 108 unit no. 56491 at the rear which has been converted into a whisky bar.
Brock Water Troughs: Freightliner 70015 is in charge of a long ballast train from Shap to Basford Hall, passing the site of Brock Water Troughs on 7th April 2025.
Chinnor: 45108, a visitor for the Chinnor weekend Diesel Gala, near Wain Hill on the outskirts of Chinnor. A few Peaks did work down the branch in BR days, bringing in coal to the now long closed cement works. That would make a more interesting shot then my gala pictures.
Glenfarg: View south from the site of Glenfarg station. When this was still a railway, the line ran in a double track cutting through rock.
