Norwich: 66748 with UK Railtours' excursion from Stevenage (that I joined at Finsbury Park) now arrved at its destination at Norwich, 9 minutes early at 14.11, on Saturday, 27th May 2023.
Halbeath: 50007 'Hercules' with 50049 'Defiance' at the rear approaching Halbeath Level Crossing where they would enter Townhill Loop. 50049 would then detach and run to the other side of the level crossing and then back again to run around and double head with 50007. This is day 3 of the 'Grampian Highlander' tour which is about to return south via Newcastle on 26/08/2024.
Ferryhill Junction: A 1961 view at Ferryhill Junction, V2 60919 on southbound freight in distance.
Dunham Massey: The old station at Dunham Massey, which closed in October 1962, looking east towards Stockport on 15th August 2024. The station building, which was combined with the station house, has survived and is currently for sale but the platforms are long gone. The next station to the east was Broadheath but no trace of that remains. Long distance freight continued to pass through here until 1985 and the trackbed was later converted into part of the Trans-Pennine Trail.
Portchester: 450072 approaching Porchester, with the 1346 Portsmouth and Southsea to Southampton service, on 15th August 2024.
Holloway and Caledonian Road: Zoom lens grab shot view of LNER Azuma unit passing the site of Holloway & Caledonian Road station, closed as a First World War economy in 1915 and never reopened after 1918 (Caledonian Road LU station, Piccadilly Line is just across the road), before passing underneath Caledonian Road bridge into tunnel on the approach to King's Cross, at 14.25 on Tuesday, 20th August 2024. It was a sheer fluke that this just happened to come along at the same time as I was on a no. 91 bus to Crouch End, enabling me to capture it through one of the upstairs side windows.
Black Dyke Halt: This view looks east at the site of Black Dyke Halt. The platform was just beyond the fenceline with the track beyond it. The substantially rebuilt crossing keeper's cottage is further off to the left. The shed seen here was built over the trackbed after railway closure.
Loch Tay: This view looks from near the Loch Tay terminus towards Killin. The route of the line can be made out curving gently towards Killin in the background.
Aberdeen: V2 60851 departing Aberdeen on 1330 to Glasgow in December 1962.
