Cameron Bridge [1st]: 50049 leads the 'Grampian Highlander' through the site of Cameron Bridge (1st) station, with 50007 out of sight on the rear, on 26th August 2024.
Perth Up Carriage Shed: Perth Carriage shed at 7.15 on a very cold morning in January 2024.
Rosyth: 50049 and 50007 speed through Rosyth with the 'Grampian Highlander', from Aberdeen to Taunton via Leven, on 26th August 2024. The locos were paired up at Townhill Loops. I cannot explain the headboard ...
Abbey Junction [CR]: Looking towards Bromfield and Brayton from near Abbey Junction (behind the camera) in August 2024. This low embankment saw its last goods trains in 1933, having closed to passengers with the Solway Viaduct line in 1921. It now forms one boundary of an Environment Agency depot but the bridge over the public road is long gone. There were actually two adjoining stations at Abbey Junction, operated by the NBR and CR, but both closed in 1921.
Henley-on-Thames: GWR 165105 standing at the branch terminus at Henley on Thames, in between shuttles to Twyford, on 16th August 2024.
Southampton [2nd]: 73113, 0940 Waterloo to Weymouth service, at Southampton Central in August 1985. I had travelled down behind this loco that morning and it had been a good run.
Motherwell Shed: The light is fading as this Pickersgill 0-6-0 No 57689 is on the line heading up to the coaling plant at Motherwell Shed on 12 July 1963.
Bridgeton Bank Yard: Balfour Beatty's Vactor unit at Bridgeton Bank Yard, between 20901 and 20905, waiting on its next likely night shift. This unit can be used for drainage or spoil suction.
Loch Tay: The Killin Railway curves from Killin to reach Loch Tay in this view looking north east. The terminus and pier were where the small yacht and Finlarig hydro power station can be seen in the distance (note the pipe running down the hillside).
Polmadie Shed: Princess Coronation class 4-6-2 No 46230 'Duchess of Buccleugh' is certainly outshining a grubby Standard 4 2-6-4T at its home depot of Polmadie on 30 June 1963.
