Rosewell Colliery Pit No 1: View south east to the former level crossing just west of Rosewell Colliery Pit No 1 (to the left). The line was crossed by Loanhead Avenue/Torres Loan. Ballingry Siding was off to the right.
Carstairs: A class 47 backs on to the Edinburgh portion of a WCML service from the south in 1988. The footbridge in the background is being replaced in 2024.
Albert Road Level Crossing: A nice sunny morning at the start of March 2007 sees 66114 propel the empties forming the 09.23 from Cockenzie PS into the coal loading area at Leith Docks. In the background can be seen some of the monuments on Calton Hill.
Maryhill Central: EE Type 1 D8099 brings two wagonloads of coal through Maryhill Central on the morning of Saturday 3rd October 1964. The station was to close that weekend.
Carstairs: TPE Class 397 from Manchester Airport, passing under the soon to be removed Carstairs footbridge, with work underway on the platform for the lift.
Edinburgh Waverley: Locomotives of classes 66, 67 and 73 occupying the short bays at the east end of Waverley, stabled between sleeper duties on a hot and sunny July afternoon in 2016. These bays were later extended back into the station and now form part of platforms 5 and 6.
Puerto Montt: A second preserved 2-6-0 on the waterfront at Puerto Montt in Chile was built by the Baldwin Loco Works, USA, in 1906. Both locos were in lined black livery for many years but the Baldwin has recently been painted all over in this bright red. A rail mounted crane on site is an even brighter all over yellow scheme. Someone, somewhere, will have a reason that this has been done.
Sandhills: 507001 arrives at Sandhills with the 1121 Hunts Cross to Southport service. It was paired up with 507007. There were a few other photographers out on 25th January chasing the 507 units.
