Hightown: The new order 777019 arrives with 2s10 0821 Hunts Cross to Southport service. On this day tehre was a mix of new and the older 507 units working the diagrams.
Torwoodlee North Viaduct: A Class 170 heading to Galashiels in misty conditions near Torwoodlee Golf Course on 10th January 2024.
Harworth Main Colliery: View looking westerly to the remaining complete south abutment of overbridge FCB3 that ran across Styrrup Lane, that runs between the B6463 at Styrrup village and the A60 Doncaster to Worksop Road. This bridge was on a 5 mile branch off a branch latterly, as it left the Harworth Colliery branch at a triangular junction east of the A60 to connect only to the Firbeck Colliery which closed in 1968. It looped around to then cross under the A60 south of Langold village to reach the colliery.
Ipswich: 755334 with the ex-Greater Anglia service from Felixstowe now arrived at Ipswich, terminating at platform 2B and not, as I would have expected, bay platform 1, on 3rd May 2023.
Whelley Viaduct: This view of one arch of the Whelley Viaduct was taken from another disused railway, a mineral line that dropped down from Haigh Junction on the Boars Head to Adlington line to serve a dye works and the Haigh Foundry. The goods branch was active from 1860 until 1919. The viaduct carried its last passenger trains in 1973 and closed completely three years later.
