Lumphinnans Central Junction: A Fife circle service approaches the site of Lumphinnans Central Junction along the 1919 link from Cowdenbeath North Junction. The original course of the Dunfermline branch can be seen beyond, now a line of trees. Off to the left was the start of the Kinross-shire Railway, an approach bypassed by the Cowdenbeath North Junction to Kelty South Junction link built in connection with the opening of the Forth Bridge.
Weka Pass: Slowing down following a runpast for passengers, the quality of the restoration of 1966 built locomotive number Di 1102 is readily apparent. Operating on the Weka Pass Railway the locomotive is also passed for operation over the NZ main line network. Note the open-sided carriage to allow passengers of a certain persuasion to enjoy the sound of the English Electric engine as the loco climbs the 1:60 gradient over the 13km to Waikari.
Weka Pass: On a ruling gradient of around 1 in 60 the Weka Pass Railway in New Zealand climbs from its southern terminus at Glenmark, Waipara for 13km up to Waikari. Seemingly a regular occurrence, and a real treat, was the opportunity to disembark at this point and enjoy the sight and sound of this English Electric locomotive after it had set back into the cutting below and then emerged for a runpast going full bore to the delight of passengers - or this one at least.
Oban: A class 27 awaits departure from Oban in the late nineteen sixties.

Cowdenbeath North Junction: A mid 1990s view of Cowdenbeath North Junction from a helicopter. The 'new' station is upper right; Cowdenbeath North Junction to lower right. Curving around the golf course to the left of the gasometer is the former Kirkcaldy District Railway to Auchtertool and Invertiel. Foulford Colliery was landscaped to create the golf course.
Oxford: DBC 66149 northbound through Oxford on 22nd November 2023 with 4M71, from Southampton Docks to Birch Coppice Sidings. A GWR IET is in the southbound platform.
Wickford: 66720, with 66744 on the rear, pass Wickford on the Southend line with the RHTT from Stowmarket in the autumn sun of 20th November 2023. The daily RHTT service give us the opportunity to see locos on the branch, which is normally just EMU apart from the odd engineers service when trackwork takes place.
