Linwood Goods [CR]: The Jones Goods (HR103) has arrived at Linwood Goods (Caledonian) during a spell of rain whilst continuing with Easter Rambler No 4 on 17 April 1965. In a typical 'April Showers' day, it left shortly afterwards in bright sunshine.

Edge Hill: The 1836 station building at Edge Hill, on island platforms 1 & 2, from the approach road in October 2023. A similar building is on island 3 & 4 but the access ramp is blocked off and passengers have to go through a pedestrian subway from here. Only local trains serve the station but it has long wide curving platforms that cover a huge area.

Greenfaulds: A4 Pacific 60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley' at speed near Greenfaulds with the 5.30pm 'St Mungo' three-hour express from Glasgow to Aberdeen in September 1964. Much though I agree with fellow Railscot contributor Peter Todd as to the delights of the present-day 'Indian Summer' of HSTs in Scotland (see [[87639]]), I am afraid I cannot quite get reconciled with the idea of it achieving 'even par' with the A4 one!

National Railway Museum [York]: Judging by the hoardings, sheeting and extractor equipment surrounding the locomotive, some serious work was being undertaken on Brush Type 2 prototype 31018 at the NRM in October 2023. Streamlined GWR railcar W4 formed the workspace boundary on the other side. The other hall and outdoor areas of the museum are closed to the public at present while major refurbishment takes place so large exhibits can only be seen in the Great Hall.
