Balornock Shed: An evening shot of Ferryhill A2 60532 'Blue Peter' at Balornock (St Rollox) depot. The Pacific had worked in with the 1.30pm Aberdeen to Glasgow, a regular duty at the time, the locomotive returning back north with the 11.30pm from Buchanan St.
Rowrah: Rowrah station, looking south towards Egremont in January 2022. Rowrah was a significant junction of several mineral railways and there was a significant marshalling yard here. Regular passenger services ceased in 1931 although the station remained staffed for parcels, goods and ad-hoc passenger services until 1967, thirty six years later. Mineral traffic gradually declined during the intervening years and the line to the north closed in 1954. The last goods train of all left in 1967.
The Shore [Tram]: The Shore tram stop island platform is well advanced in this view looking north on 22 January 2022. Rails are in place along Constitution Street as far as the sharp turn into Ocean Drive.
Greenbank: Passengers wait for the next Manchester bound train at Greenbank station on the CLC line from Chester to Altrincham.
Camden Road: An eastbound cross-London freight arrives at Camden Road Junction off the Gospel Oak line in the summer of 2005. Photograph taken looking west from the platforms of Camden Road station. Note the mix of overhead AC and third rail DC systems in use here at this time.
Wykeham: Wykeham station is still used as the base for the Wykeham Estate, and kept in good condition. The platform is intact with a short section of the trackbed west of the station building infilled to provide a circulation area complete with a display board showing the route of the line and earlier years views around the station upto closure. This view is along the goods yard track showing nothing much has changed over the last twelve years. See image [[55464]] from 2009.
Lambeth North: LU 1972 stock, now 50 years old and the oldest trains on the London Underground, heading away from its penultimate stop at Lambeth North with a Bakerloo Line service to Elephant & Castle, on 14th January 2022. This station could also do with some refurbishment. It opened as Kennington Road on 10th March 1906, the temporary terminus of the Baker Street & Waterloo Railway. It was renamed Westminster Bridge Road on 5th August that year when the line was extended to Elephant & Castle and became Lambeth North on 15th April 1917.
Larkfield Junction: DRS 66429 nears Larkfield Junction with a Hunterston Low Level - Motherwell TMD route learner on 18 January 2022. It is about to pass the abutments of the removed bridge which carried the GSW main line from Carlisle to St Enoch.
Elderslie: On 30 May 1963, Coronation 46222 'Queen Mary' approaches Elderslie with the regular morning parcel and mail van empties. In the background a Black Five is doing some shunting in the marshalling yard.
Burton and Holme: 397003, working from Glasgow to Preston, is crosses the Cumbria (originally Westmorland) and Lancashire border passing Burton and Holme on 26th June 2021.
