Marley Hill Shed: The driver seems a little apprehensive as he takes his train through the points at the east end of the yard at Marley Hill in the spring of 2014. The locomotive is Hawthorn Leslie 0-4-0ST No 2 (works no 2859 of 1911), formerly deployed at Keighley Gasworks.

Cattal: Cattal station still retains a signal box, semaphore signals, and manually opened and closed gates, with only the flashing wigwam signals, to halt road traffic, for modernity in June 2021. View is looking south along Station Road towards Cattal Street seen beyond the closed crossing gates.

Tay Bridge: View from a northbound train crossing the Tay Bridge. The picture dates from the autumn of 1963 and the locomotive crossing in the other direction is a Standard 2-6-4 tank, perhaps with a service for Tayport.

Angel: The 1992 entrance on Islington High Street to Angel station on the Northern Line, which replaced the original City & South London Railway entrance of 1901 on City Road which still stands ([[77020]]), seen here on 20th November 2021. The entire station was rebuilt at the same time with escalators replacing lifts and, as a result, Angel now has the longest escalator on the London Underground ([[68747]]), superseding that at Leicester Square.

Strathcarron: View from charter train to Kyle on 15th June 1991, passing 37409 on the 'Royal Scotsman' at Strathcarron. The charter was also hauled by a 37, the now preserved 37025, and 37409 remains in main line service thirty years later with DRS.

Tebay: Standard Class 4MT 4-6-0 75037 coasts back downhill to Tebay after banking a summer evening freight to Shap summit (see image [[78143]]).

Bradkirk Junction: Part way between Bradkirk Junction and Weeton a public footpath crosses the line. This bridge, installed for electrification, replaced a foot crossing and what must have been a steep scramble up the cutting side. In the foreground of this view is the trackbed of the direct Marton Line to Blackpool Central. 195110 passes with a York to Blackpool North service on 27th November 2021.

Deansgate: An East Midlands Trains service from Liverpool to Norwich passes Deansgate in July 2014 as it heads to the next stop at Oxford Road. 158770 leads 158785 which is out of site on the curve through the station.
