Killington Lane: I guess you have to have the sign on the right for legal reasons, but the one on the left seems to be more elegant. The engine is 'Axe' - does that make the driver an Axe man? Killington Lane looking towards Woody Bay in August 2016.

Whitehouse North Junction: A short section of the old Lancaster Canal tramroad affords access to several properties, in addition to its primary role as a footpath and cycleway. The formal title of 'Old Tram Road' is a nice touch although it was actually a plateway, with flanged rails and plain wheels on the horse drawn wagons. This view is towards Preston from Walton Park on 29th December 2020 and just out of view the tramroad drops down quite steeply towards the River Ribble flood plain.

Arniston Colliery Emily Pit: Looking rather incongruous amid the greenery at Arniston is the surviving north abutment of the bridge that once carried the spoil tramway from the Emily Pit across the Gore Pit access road, in order to reach the south bing. Photographed in September 2017 looking north east towards Engine Road from what is today a woodland pathway. For an old map of the area see [[61725]].

North Dulwich: The fine entrance building to North Dulwich station in south London, opened with the London, Brighton & South Coast Railway's line from Peckham Rye to Sutton on 1st October 1868, seen here just over 150 years later on 16th February 2019. The station was designed by Charles Barry, Jr. (1823-1900), eldest son of Charles Barry (1795-1860) who designed the Houses of Parliament at Westminster in 1866.

Croft Spa: View taken close to the Tees Viaduct, located south of Croft-on-Tees, where the East Coast main line traverses the historic boundary between Yorkshire and County Durham. This is from the up side looking south west to bridge 87, showing it to be in as bad a condition rail side as it is when seen from the road. See image [[61941]]

Bournville: Cadbury No. 14 (Hudswell Clark 0-4-0DM D1012 of 1956), preserved at the Bournville factory, though it had not worked there, and seen in 2007.

Bathgate [4th]: A promotion-rate ticket for the (re)opening day of Edinburgh to Bathgate services in March 1986. A representative of a fantastic new Class called a Pacer was helping out that day; never seen in Scotland again as far as I know. My abiding memory is unexpectedly non-stopping Uphall and hearing the Doppler effect when passing a surprised piper at speed.

Ladywell: 376005, with a service to Hayes (Kent), arriving at Ladywell station in south-east London on 16th February 2019. This is a fairly well-used London suburban station, being closer to Lewisham Hospital than the main Lewisham station.
