Ballantrae: A shot from the recent past. The miniature train at Craigiemains Garden Centre on 5th May 2013. Sadly, the Centre and the railway are now closed, apparently for good. A visit on 24th September 2020 showed all accesses padlocked and no possibility of photography except of the buildings. Another one bites the dust - unfortunately.
Euxton Junction: LSL Class 20 D8107 heads home to Crewe from Thunderbird duties at Appleby for the Staycation Express services during the last few weeks. The loco is seen between Euxton Jct and Euxton Balshaw Lane on 14 September 2020.
Lochailort: View east along Loch Eilt on 19th September 2020, with the Road to the Isles (A830) on the left. 'The Jacobite' is returning to Fort William on the right behind K1 2-6-0 62005.
Warcop: Class 411 EMU no 2315, in faded South West Trains livery, stands under a cloudy sky in the sidings at the Eden Valley Railway Centre, Warcop, in the summer of 2012.
Burntisland [1st]: A series of photographs taken on a research visit in September 2020. Front colonnade of the original Edinburgh and Northern Railway Burntisland station - now converted to small business use 16 September 2020.
Carmont: Carmont signal box, from the south in 1999, with the line going north into the defile of the Carron Water. The former New Mill corn mill is to the left, subsequently rebuilt.
Glen Douglas Halt: Day in, day out, (with very few exceptions) the Alcan train has kept the Lochaber Smelter going during the COVID-19 crisis and the smelter itself has remained open. An autumnal view of 66733 heading south above above Loch Long. The train is approaching the tight curves just before the turn inland to Glen Douglas.
Morningside Road: Over-powered or what? This nuclear flask train, heading west through Morningside on 19th August 2020, involves no less than 7,600 horse power (courtesy of two DRS Class 68s) to haul just three wagons. A hefty bill for the taxpayer . . .
Filey Holiday Camp: View forward from a DMU leaving Filey Holiday Camp station, thought to have been taken on Saturday 27 August 1977 during the station's final days of operation. The 1132 (SO) Scarborough - Hull had left the Yorkshire Coast line at Royal Oak North Junction (situated along the embankment to the right) with the main line continuing between Royal Oak North and Royal Oak South Junctions via the single arch bridge visible in the centre background. The train was now about to take the curve towards Royal Oak South Junction where it would rejoin the main line to Hull.
Wolsingham: In the centre of the main part of Wolsingham Station, platform side, there is a canopied recess, by the exit from what was possibly the former ticket office, complete with clock. There is also a door at each end leading into the main part of the building. The building also has some feature stones at high level, one a date stone and the other a crest.
Uddingston: Caledonian Sleeper stock from Edinburgh heads through Uddingston on its way to Polmadie on 19 September 2020.
Craiginches Yard: A Network Rail crane in Craiginches Yard on 2nd September 2020. This was one of two such machines waiting to go down to the Carmont crash site.
