Bucksburn: Ex NBR Class J36 65307 near Bucksburn on an up freight in 1961.
Kentish Town: These former platform canopies at Kentish Town station in north London now provide shelter for an al fresco coffee bar on the bridge over the Midland main line, seen here on 5th January 2019. The entrance to the LUL Northern Line station is just to the right.
Breich: After a gap of many years Breich now has a proper service - to go with its completely rebuilt station. Of course nowhere in Scotland is boring, but Breich is as far from anywhere interesting as it is possible to be. It was the life model for 'Stoneybridge' (look it up). An Edinburgh service calls on 3 July 2019.
Edinburgh Waverley: An expansion joint on the track at Platform 6. The strap rails in the centre keep the rails in position when air temperature changes cause them to expand or contract. [see image 55375]
Scottish Pulp and Paper Mills: The Scottish Pulp and Paper Mills at Corpach seen in the 1960s when new.
Perth Carriage Sidings: 170395 in the carriage sidings at Perth on 30th June 2019. A Scotrail HST can be seen inside the shed, to the right.
Summerseat: Class 24s are not stylish locos, but D5054 has recently been refurbished and looked and sounded great as it pulled away from Summerseat with a six coach train for Rawtenstall on 5th July 2019. This loco survived into preservation as, after main line withdrawal, it was used for several years as a departmental Train Heating Unit. It has been on the ELR since 1987 and is named 'Phil Southern' after one of the pioneers of the East Lancashire Railway Preservation Society.
Aviemore Speyside: Ex LMS Black 5 No.5025 runs round the train at Aviemore Speyside in August 1989 in this view south from the shed yard.
Slateford Junction: A Sprinter takes the suburban line at Slateford Junction in 1993 during diversions away from Haymarket.
