Kentish Town: These former platform canopies at Kentish Town station in north London now provide shelter for an al fresco coffee bar on the bridge over the Midland main line, seen here on 5th January 2019. The entrance to the LUL Northern Line station is just to the right.

Breich: After a gap of many years Breich now has a proper service - to go with its completely rebuilt station. Of course nowhere in Scotland is boring, but Breich is as far from anywhere interesting as it is possible to be. It was the life model for 'Stoneybridge' (look it up). An Edinburgh service calls on 3 July 2019.

Edinburgh Waverley: An expansion joint on the track at Platform 6. The strap rails in the centre keep the rails in position when air temperature changes cause them to expand or contract. [see image 55375]

Summerseat: Class 24s are not stylish locos, but D5054 has recently been refurbished and looked and sounded great as it pulled away from Summerseat with a six coach train for Rawtenstall on 5th July 2019. This loco survived into preservation as, after main line withdrawal, it was used for several years as a departmental Train Heating Unit. It has been on the ELR since 1987 and is named 'Phil Southern' after one of the pioneers of the East Lancashire Railway Preservation Society.

Raith^s Farm Sidings: Spoil and ballast wagon trains as far as the eye can see. I don't know if any of these trains were coupled together, but by what I could see they did seem to be buffer to buffer on Sunday 30th June 2019.
