Wanton Walls Junction: The derelict footbridge that once crossed the trackbed of the NB Niddrie West - Monktonhall Junction direct freight route, seen from the fenced off steps on the south side of the bridge in June 2010. Some 250m off to the right the route was joined by the Lothian Lines connection from Niddrie North, coming together at Wanton Walls Junction. This location along with much of the surrounding area, is now part of a large housing development. For a map [see image 1404]
