Grange-over-Sands: Northern 156438 skirts the promenade at Grange-over-Sands heading for the next stop at Kents Bank with a service for Barrow-in-Furness on 9th March 2019.

Glazebrook East Junction: On a very misty 24 January 2019, a Northern Class 150 DMU on a service from Liverpool to Manchester passes Glazebrook East Jct SB. The junction is beyond the train and forks to the right. Although originally it ran via Partington to Skelton Jct near Timperley, latterly it only ran as far as exchange sidings on the MSC. Also noted on this visit, the crossover is out of use as the crossing on the up line has been plain lined.
Callerton Parkway: The warning klaxon and flashing lights bring road traffic to a halt at Callerton Parkway open level crossing on 10 May 2006. The approaching Tyne & Wear Metro service is about to make its first stop after leaving Newcastle Aiport. This Metro station is unique in being located in an area of low population density serving little in the way of business or commercial premises. The focus here is on the car user, with Park & Ride and long term Airport Parking facilities adjacent to the station.
Paisley Gilmour Street: When ScotRail decided not to paint all 314s out of SPT carmine and cream I don’t suppose they expected them to last this long. A Gourock semi-fast noses out of Gilmour Street on 7 March 2019.
Busby: The token brought in by BR Standard Class 5 4-6-0 no 73055 being handed over to signalman Donald MacKay at Busby in the summer of 1959.
Sighthill East Junction [1st]: The long single carriageway tunnel which takes Darnick Street under the railway from Spingburn to Cumbernauld is quite intimidating for pedestrians even in the middle of a busy working day. Overhead to the west (left) is the junction for the line leading to Glasgow Works which at the time of writing (March 2019) is scheduled to close.
Hembrug: Hembrug Railway swing bridge over the North Sea Canal between Zaandam and Amsterdam. The bridge is no longer there and was replaced with a tunnel, the last train crossed on the 27th May 1983.
