Niddrie West Junction: 60009 draws away from Niddrie West Junction with the empty stock of the Railway Touring Company's 'Edinburgh Christmas Market' special from York, on its way to Newcraighall for a reversal, being turned on the Niddrie triangle. 47854 is on the rear. 8 December.
Niddrie West Junction: 47854 brings the empty stock of the Railway Touring Company's 'Edinburgh Christmas Market' special from York round the Niddrie North/West chord (part of the suburban circle) in a manoeuvre to turn the train round on the Niddrie triangle for its return to York. 60009 was on the rear.
Lancaster: 47760 brings the stock of a Santa Special into Platform 3 at Lancaster on 2nd December 2018. The Brush 4 had brought the 13 coaches, and steam loco 35018, from Carnforth and went with the train to Carlisle to assist with turning there.
Euxton Junction: BR pacific no.70000 Britannia at speed with the 'Pennine Moors Festive Explorer' from Crewe to Burnley on 08 December 2018, seen at Euxton on the slight climb from Balshaw Lane to Euxton Jct. However a few seconds later the brakes went on as the double yellow aspect of signal PN 17 was sighted as a result of the approach control for the diverging route that was to be taken at Farington Jct.
Ayr: The Ayr station hotel on 8th December 2018 - honestly! A scaffolding framework is being erected over the roof and the hotel façade is completely obscured by this.
Devonshire Tunnel: Looking North at the Southern portal of Devonshire Tunnel in November 2018 - slightly lighter inside than out.
Aberdour: Aberdour best small station - a plaque unveiled on the 7th of December.
Accrington: A Blackburn to Wigan Pacer (going the long way round) calls at Accrington as dusk falls on a very dreary afternoon on 29 November 2018. The dark clouds had earlier brought large amounts of water to the area but high winds had helped to keep them moving.
Rogart: A 1989 view of Rogart south cabin at its original location west of the station. It closed in 1985 and was later relocated to the platform.
Edinburgh Waverley: View east from the station footbridge at Waverley showing progress on the new platforms 5 and 6. Taken on Saturday morning 8 December 2018.
Edinburgh Waverley: Breakdown crane at work at Waverley station in 1955.
Cockenzie Harbour: Stone blocks on the quayside at Cockenzie Harbour showing where the rail chairs had been fixed at a gauge of 3' 3'. These probably date from 1815, with iron rails first being used from then. The waggonway is approaching its Tercentenary and an archaeological 'Big Dig' was under way when this image was taken.
Blackford: Looking west at Blackford on 4th December 2018 with the site of the Down refuge siding being used for an S&T conduit/walkway. The Highland Spring freight terminal work site extends to the now-closed Panholes foot crossing.
