As part of the reopening scheme for the Blyth and Tyne route, the double track section was extended from Newsham South to New Hartley. Taking advantage of the increase in line capacity to fit in between the half hourly passenger service, 60076 hauls 60002 dead in tow and a rake of empty biomass hoppers from Lynemouth Power Station to the terminal at Tyne Dock on 13th June 2025. The newly constructed flyover to allow the closure of Newsham South level crossing as part of the scheme is readily visible above the locomotives.
