Dudley Tunnel

The light at the end of the tunnel is very welcome when it's 870m long and curved. A very spacious cross-section, mind; it was built for broad gauge tracks, and today is graded at W12 (suitable for refrigerated containers). The gents by the fence are BLS members in their Sunday best - on a Tuesday. They were visiting the Very Light Rail National Innovation Centre, only to find the tram had been sent to Coventry. When it's there, it has a 2.2km test track; including 600m beyond this fence, and a 15m radius loop at the other end, on the site of the former Dudley station.
