On the south side of Carlisle Bridge in Lancaster the railway is carried on seven stone arches towards the girder section over the River Lune. The arches themselves have smaller arches in the pillar sections, as seen here looking down from the public staircase on 18th January 2025. The stairs lead to the track level footbridge that is cantilevered from the main structure.
