Rebuilt exterior of London Cannon Street, seen from passing RM 1941 on Heritage Routemaster route T15 from Tower Hill to Trafalgar Square, at 15.36 on Saturday, 10th May 2025. This station was opened by the South Eastern Railway in 1866 at the end of a short branch across the Thames from a triangular junction between London Bridge and what is now Waterloo East but only the line towards London Bridge is now in regular use. Badly damaged by enemy action during the 'Blitz', it was not until the late 1950s/early 1960s that rebuilding began and all that is left of the 1866 station are the twin towers at the country end, overlooking the Thames.
