Crinan

PS 'Waverley' arrived at Crinan on 19th May 2025 for the first time since 1995. The welcome, by a young piper from Mid-Argyll Pipe Band, was much appreciated by the full complement of passengers aboard. This follows the return of Ardrishaig at the other end of the Crinan Canal (see image 77870) to the paddle steamer’s itinerary in August 2021, made possible with the cooperation of staff at Scottish Canals. A wide angle lens was necessary at compact Crinan pier to fit the whole vessel in the frame. This unfortunately distorts her fine lines but it certainly doesn’t diminish the significance of the event.
