Putney
Remains of the up flyover viaduct from East Putney on the LU District Line to Point Pleasant junction, west of Wandsworth Town, seen from a SWR service from Waterloo to Windsor & Eton Riverside approaching Putney station, on 17th April 2025. This once supported the Wimbledon to Waterloo via East Putney service, withdrawn by the Southern Railway on 5th May 1941. The down line to East Putney is now signalled bi-directionally for occasional diversions or empty stock workings but this viaduct closed in 1980, deemed 'unsafe'. The LU District Line continues to provide a service between Wimbledon and East Putney.
