The North British Railway's main line from Edinburgh to Perth ran north east through Glen Farg. It can be seen in the shadows in this view, with the River Farg and B996 to its left. The three ran together in the narrow confines of the glen from Glenfarg station north to Meikle Fildie where the railway crossed over both road and river to enter Glenfarg south Tunnel.
