Deep Pit footbridge at Hindley was designated a listed structure in 2023, just ahead of electrification of the Wigan to Lostock Junction route. In September 2024 work commenced on raising the structure, and new approach ramps are to be provided. Understandably the bridge is off limits while the work takes place so a picture from a passing train, on 18th September, will have to suffice. See image 88850 from the lineside before this work started.
