Bowes Park

View looking north from replacement bus service, for the temporarily closed Piccadilly Line between Wood Green and Cockfosters, on Bounds Green Road crossing the bridge over the Hertford North Loop, looking down on Bowes Park station at 13.34 on Saturday, 31st August 2024. The line here opened as the Enfield branch from Wood Green (now Alexandra Palace) in 1871 with Bowes Park opening in 1880 and the line extended back to the main line at Stevenage between 1910 and 1918. (After sixteen days of replacement buses, trains to Cockfosters restarted on Monday, 2nd September.)
