Black Dyke Halt

This large hedge conceals the site of Black Dyke Halt, two miles south east of Silloth. The house, believed to be the rebuilt crossing cottage, sits in line with the trackbed but the simple single platform and level crossing infrastructure have been removed since closure in 1964. Behind the camera a short length of public road follows the old trackbed towards Silloth but the sign in the hedge helpfully points towards Black Dyke Industrial Estate, marking the site of the small station.
