Overpool
Overpool was a late addition to the rail network, opening in 1988 on the Hooton to Helsby line. This was electrified as far as Ellesmere Port six years later and Overpool became part of the Merseyrail network. It is one of only four unstaffed stations on Merseyrail, with just two simple platforms and shelters but there is a ticket issuing machine. 777016 pulls away heading for the next and final stop at Ellesmere Port on 8th May 2024.
