Garrochburn Signal Box

A shot, thought to date from 1974, of Garrochburn signal box looking north. The line adjacent to me originally served Mauchline Colliery, but following closure of the pit in 1966, the site took on a new role as Mauchline Coal Preparation Plant. It was worked by NCB 'Pugs' which worked to and from the exchange sidings at Garrochburn. The signal box is noted as closing in 1974.
