Windyedge Crossing
View looking east from above 'The Walnut Whips', at the former St Ninians opencast mine, looking towards Lassodie Mill Colliery and Kelty. The course of the former West of Fife Mineral Railway is severed by the M90 motorway. The former line can be seen in this view as an oblique line from lower centre running up to the right across the fields. The line on this side of the M90 is utterly obliterated by opencast and landscaping operations. Windyedge Colliery, short lived, was just to the north of the line where the level crossing for Windyedge Farm was located (just beyond the motorway).
