Kings Cross

47746 has just brought the stock of the Railway Touring Company's partly steam-hauled excursion to Whitby, departing at 06.00, into King's Cross, at 05.33 on Wednesday, 20th March 2024. This was hauled by E3137 (86259) as far as York where Stanier Black 5 no. 44871 took over with 47815 attached to the rear (47746 did not travel with the train) for the several reversals the train would be making, beginning at Battersby on the Esk Valley Line.
