Reddish North

Looking north towards the city, from an aircraft on the approach to Runway 23R at Manchester, on 13th February 2024. In the foreground is Reddish Viaduct, carrying the line between Reddish North and Brinnington and on to Sheffield via the Hope Valley. At the south end of the viaduct the split in the trees shows the point where the chord to Brinnington Junction, on the line to Stockport Tiviot Dale, diverged until 1966. The railway running left to right across the middle is the Stockport to Guide Bridge line, singled at this point between Reddish South and Denton.
