North Rode

No trace remains of North Rode station as EMU 323237 passes through on a Stoke-on-Trent to Manchester Piccadilly local service. The station, serving a rural area between Macclesfield and Congleton, closed in May 1962. Just to the south of the site North Rode Junction was the point at which the Churnet Valley to Leek and Uttoxeter branched off from the North Staffordshire Railway main line between Macclesfield and Stoke-on-Trent. The trackbed of the Churnet Valley line is still in use by the heritage railway of the same name based at Cheddleton and also the Rudyard Lake Railway.
