Birkenhead Central
507013, now around forty five years old, disappears into the tunnel at Birkenhead Central, heading for Liverpool, on 1st November 2023. It will be in tunnel now for over five miles, passing under the Mersey, around the Liverpool loop line and back under the river to emerge here again heading for Chester. Old and new EMUs were turn and turn about on the Wirral Lines diagrams on this day.
