Bury South Junction
Bury South signal box looking south in the early 1970s. Bury Bolton Street station is behind the photographer with the Manchester line going straight ahead and a pair of Manchester and Bury Class 504 EMUs stabled on the right. The track swinging off to the left was a connection to Bury Knowsley Street which was on the line between Bolton and Castleton. This line was in a cutting which ran between the rear of the wagons and the terrace of houses in the background.
