Craigmill Siding

By the spring of 1983 the branch to Woodend (Armadale) had been lifted and this was the view from the A8 overbridge looking towards the site of Woodend Colliery The colliery itself closed in 1965 but the washery was retained until 1979 when it too bit the dust and the branch closed. Woodend Junction was situated between Armadale and Blackridge on the north side of the line.

The Branch Line Society closed railways guide shows the branch as closing in 05/1973 due to rail traffic cessation and an online source shows it reopening in 03/1977.
