Eastbourne

The magnificent facade of Eastbourne station, East Sussex, on Saturday, 12th August 2023. The first station here was opened on 14th May 1849 as the terminus of a branch from Polegate on the Brighton to Hastings line and rebuilt in 1866, only to be resited in 1872. This was also rebuilt in this fine style, designed by an archtect named F.D. Brick, and opened in 1886 although I have been unable to ascertain the exact date. The station has been a Grade II Listed Structure by English Heritage since 3rd July 1981.
