Barnsley Interchange, northbound platform, seen from 158901 calling with the ex-11.09 service from Leeds to Nottingham, on 21st September 2023. This was first opened as Barnsley on 1st January 1850 and was briefly known as Barnsley Low Town between 2nd June 1924 and 1st August 1924 when it became Barnsley Exchange. On 13th June 1960, it became simply Barnsley again but on rebuilding by the SYPTE in 2007, to provide better access to the adjacent bus station, it was renamed yet again to Barnsley Interchange. The rebuilt station received a Civic Buildings Award.
