Edinburgh Princes Street

Edinburgh Princes Street station seen in 1965, with a smoky blue pall in the air. The round booking office building is to the left and the entrance to the vehicle carriage way, between platforms 1 and 2, on the right. A DMU waits at platform 4. In this view the station looks very quiet indeed. However, other photographs taken on the same day reveal the area beyond the booking office, where there were shops and the famous clock, was quite busy.
