Great Harwood Junction

150224 and 150139 have just left Blackburn heading for Rainford via Copy Pit and Manchester Victoria on 13th September 2023. The train is passing the site of Great Harwood Junction, where until 1964 the 'Padiham Loop' diverged from the line to Accrington. Once an open area of sidings and lineside mills, any land no longer in railway use has either been built on or is covered in substantial trees.
