Kirkdale Servicing Depot

Class 777 EMUs, awaiting service entry, at the new Stadler EMU depot at Kirkdale, seen from the station footbridge as 507014 leaves towards Liverpool. The Stadler buildings occupy the site of the old EMU depot (See 31181), which in turn was built on the site of Bank Hall steam shed. Since this picture was taken in December 2022 the new 777s have taken over Kirkby and Ormskirk services and are now being rolled out on the Southport and Wirral lines.
