Drung Hill Tunnels

A view of the Drung Hill Tunnels from the Kerry Way on the slopes of Drung Hill looking southwestwards in the direction of Cahirciveen and Valencia Harbour with the N70 road snaking alongside and Dingle Bay and the Dingle Peninsula beyond. This shot gives an idea of just how scenic the section between Glenbeigh and Kells actually is - if the line had survived it would have rivalled many of the great railway journeys of the world for its spectacular scenery. Fortunately the trackbed here will be converted into the South Kerry Greenway construction of which has already begun.
