Network Rail has applied for listed building consent to make the station easier to access for passengers.
Network Rail has submitted a planning application to make Dumfries station more easily accessible for passengers.
The application for listed building consent was made to Dumfries and Galloway Council and, if approved, will see the construction of a new footbridge with lifts to allow step-free access across both platforms.
