Sellafield

The plant at Sellafield covers a huge area. The railway going north towards St. Bees is not easy to see in this view but it crosses the river just north of the station and hugs the coastline. The long disused line to Egremont diverged just before the river bridge and can easily be seen from passing trains but less so in this 2014 picture. The exchange sidings are between the plant and the line with Sellafield station itself just above the small blue roofed building.
