New Southgate

New Southgate, looking north from the surviving outer side of the down island platform, on 11th February 2017. This station opened with the GNR's London extension in 1850, principally to serve the adjacent Friern Barnet Asylum into the grounds of which once ran a tramway from the station. The hospital closed in 1993 and the building is now luxury flats.
