Hayle

Hayle signalbox in 1973. Once the Wharf line closed in 1982 there was little need for the box to be manned. In latter days it was only staffed when a train required to run down the branch. Motive power from 1972 to 1980 was a Class 25 from Laira depot, outbased at Penzance. After the class 25s were moved away a few class 37s worked the branch before it closed.
