Ewood Bridge and Edenfield
Resident Warship 832 'Onslaught' is on the tail of a Gala Day train to Rawtenstall on 29th June 2023. Having just passed the closed Ewood Bridge station the train is approaching Townsend Fold level crossing. Hymek D7076 was leading on this outward trip and its exhast fumes are still dispersing in this picture. The large bridge behind the train carries the A56 over the River Irwell, which the line closely follows, and crosses nine times, between Rawtenstall and Bury.
