Balquhidder [1st]

One of the new beams in a replacement rail bridge over the A84 at Balquhidder is lifted into place by a rail steam crane. The new bridge was removed after the line closed in 1965, but an abutment remains. The road itself was realigned to the east with the old road left for access to former railway cottages. The original Balquhidder station was to the immediate right and its replacement, for the Crieff route, further to the right.
