Parkend
Ex-GWR class 45XX 2-6-2T 5541, just arrived at the current northern terminus of the Dean Forest Railway at Parkend, on 4th July 2015. Although steam operations on a few yards of track began here in 1971, these were relocated to Norchard in 1978 and it was not until 2005 that Parkend was fully reopened for the heritage railway, 76 years after the last passenger trains had called.
